In a 2024 interview, Aryana León recalls standing in front of the mirror as a young teen, practicing her “lightsaber introduction” as if she were a star on the Disney Channel. Today, she’s flourishing as a pop/R&B artist on the rise, having played her first Capitol Hill Block Party in 2024 and releasing her first EP, PLEASURE, in 2025. Her voice is incredible, warm currents over songs that play like smooth passenger-side car rides by the bay—perfect for a late August day under the shade of the Needle.

Hi Aryana, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and grind. I’ve made some serious strides in my music career over the last few years, and a huge part of my success is due to not being afraid to talk to anyone and everyone—not just to promote my music but to open doors to new opportunities.

At Neumos, Aryana León performed beautifully and entertained wonderfully, at one point even getting into a beatbox versus drum kit battle with her bandmate. I didn’t think I was going to make it to Corook‘s set but I’m happy I did! It was lighthearted, playful, and groovy as hell. Jaymyloni left it all out on the Barboza stage and TeZATalks blew the roof off of Neumos upstairs with one of the most electrifying performances of the weekend. 

Anyone who’s spent time with musicians will tell you that they often embody dual personas. Their onstage self is larger-than-life, played up to keep crowds of concertgoers engaged and transfixed. But offstage, the real life version emerges: not completely oppositional to their public face, but notably toned down.

Unless that musician is Aryana León, that is.
